What is a bail bond?
A financial guarantee to the court to ensure the defendant will appear for any applicable court proceedings as directed by the court.
How much does a bail bond cost?
For Tennessee residents, the bail bond premiums are 10% of the full bail amount plus an additional fee of $37.00. Non-residents of Tennessee will be charged a premium 15% plus an additional fee of $37.00. In some cases, a refundable deposit of up to the full bail amount may be required.
Who can be a co-signer?
A co-signer (indemnitor), is an individual who agrees to take full responsibility for the defendant. The Co-signer is obligated to make sure the defendant appears at all court proceedings. If the defendant fails to appear in court, the Co-signer is financially responsible for the full-face value of the bond.
What is the bail bond process?
When an arrest has been made and the defendant has been fully processed, a bail amount will be determined by the courts. After the bail amount has been set you can contact any of our bondsmen to begin the bonding process. Once the contract has been initiated and payment has been received, the bondsman will proceed to the jail to complete the process.
How long does it take?
Times may vary by county, circumstances, and charges. However, the application process can be completed in less than 30 minutes, and our bondsmen will do their best to ensure a timely release.
